[MEDS XII]I To protect their health, the gods gave birth to their warrior offsprings, the mighty warriors of the Mediteranos. They were born to fight, guard and only protect one thing from all, the Mediteranis.

Following our collaborative ‘MEDS Brigades x Zalaam’ joint track ‘Sidra’ comes the album ‘Ardis’ by Kvathory ~
The project’s name came from a combination of two words (Kvass & Bathory) – kvass is the name of our cat and bathory is our friend Rezeq’s cat (both passed away). In Sumer, Assyria and Babylonia, funerary cults mostly revolved around caring for deceased kin, with a specific family member assigned to providing for a specific ghost. So it’s basically a homage to them and to our preferred music genre ‘Black Metal’, hence the terminology; ‘Bathory’ is a founding pillar of that genre, and ‘Kvass’ has a double meaning which is an album by another favourite band ‘Kampfar’, as well as a traditional slavic beverage since our cat’s breed was blue russian.
The album’s aesthetic and emotions are mainly expressed in the music and conveyed within this traditional genre, while leaving space for more innovative ideas coming through autonomously. The visual scope for this release was constructed by Hilal (our very own alchemist), making it alongside the music both communal yet primal. In essence, It is profoundly a glimpse at the past, with a scent for the future and the voices in it are whispers of the present.
